Contract Manager
As a result of expansion of our activities and in order to strengthen our project teams Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding is looking to hire a
Contract Manager
Key responsibilities
-
Present clear contractual management information in regard to the progress of the project with particular reference to current and potential difficulties and risks.

Negotiate with other members of the project team, all relevant contractual conditions, settlements, and claims with client and all subcontractors and suppliers

Maintain all contractual correspondence, including the correct drafting and submission of all contractual notices.

Administer and manage the contract on behalf of the contractor such that all rights, responsibilities and obligations are fully carried out by the contractor in a timely manner.

Liaise with in-house legal counsel and provide coordination amongst in-house departments (planning and scheduling, cost control, engineering, procurement, production and commissioning).
Profile
-
Technical understanding of requirements for ensuring compliance with contract specification and terms.

Sound knowledge and experience of project risk management.
-
Knowledge of work methods related to shipbuilding activities is a pre.
-
Ability to understand technical solutions as they impact upon the production.
-
Excellent skills in negotiating, writing and interpreting contract agreements.
-
Fluent in English in both verbal and written communication and Legal terms in English.

Skill in office automation and standard office computer abilities.
-
Flexible ability and able to prioritise.
-
Able to be pro-active with good communication skills.
-
International outlook.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
A recognised professional qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
-
At least five years of construction contract management experience in a high-value international project environment; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
