AfdelingThe Engine Management Systems department is responsible for the development of the Engine and After Treatment Control Units (both software and hardware), sensors, actuators and wiring of PACCAR engines. The department is divided in three groups: Software Definition, Software Engineering and Hardware. The candidate will be working in the Software Definition group.
To support the growth in projects and technology development, we are seeking a well qualified Project Lead Engineer to work within our creative team in an innovative, fast moving environment.
FunctieomschrijvingThe Project Lead Engineer is responsible for coordinating the engineering activities of assigned engineers (internal/external) within the project team realising the project targets for the engine management areas hardware and software.
The Project Lead Engineer creates and monitors project plans for software and hardware development activities for the engine management system and reports status on frequent basis to the project manager.
The Project Lead Engineer will be in charge of the daily activities for the assigned engineers carrying out the project activities according plan and realising the agreed project deliverables. The Project Lead Engineer will present and discuss project status within the project core team and tune activities to match the overall project plan and will be in charge of the change management and defect management for software and hardware development activities of the engine management system.
The Project Lead Engineer will monitor technical definitions to be in line with strategies defined by line management and report discrepancies between line and project organisation.
The Project Lead Engineer will participate in distributing know-how between specialists and engineering team members and optimise the utilisation of best practices and is responsible for translating high level project requirements into design requirements for the engine management areas hardware and software.
The Project Lead Engineer is dedicated to a project and reports to the project manager for project targets and reports to the Supervisor Software Definition group with respect to process, quality and personnel aspects.
Click here for the Dutch Job description.Functieprofiel- Technical education on BSc/MSc level with at least 6 year experience in leading projects (preferably in the automotive domain)
- Experience with coordination of multiple engineers in different domains
- Experience with creating and monitoring of project plans (preferably in MS Project)
- Team player and team builder
- Experience with monitoring, reporting and presenting project status to management
- Experience with hardware and software development within the embedded systems domain (automotive is an asset)
- Experience with creating of requirement specifications for software and hardware components
- Experience with change management and defect management processes
- Experience with initiating and defining risk analysis and validation plans
- Knowledge of requirement management
- Knowledge of design for Six Sigma methodology
- Knowledge of embedded software design processes (according the V-cycle)
- Knowledge of hardware design processes for engine management components
- Knowledge of model-based design techniques is preferred
- Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink is preferred
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and spoken
- Good English skills are mandatory combined with Dutch (or willingness to learn Dutch)
