Nuon is a major energy company active in production, distribution and sales of power, natural gas and heat to customers in the Netherlands. Nuon is part of the Vattenfall group with activities in core countries Sweden and Germany as well as on other markets. M&A Berlin/Amsterdam

In addition to operating its existing facilities, Nuon is involved in identifying and executing development opportunities, including power generation plants, industry parks, wind parks and gas storage projects, to strengthen its long-term focus and market position in these key strategic countries. 

Your tasks and responsibilities

• You will be a member of the Amsterdam M&A team reporting to the head of M&A Berlin/Amsterdam which is part of Group M&A
• Project management: Lead and coordinate M&A projects within the timing and deliverables defined for these specific projects
• Performing financial analysis, valuation, preparing and conducting due diligence activities, prepare presentations regarding possible investments or divestments managing internal approval process
• Perform market, company and strategic analyses including organisational and financial aspects as well as
• Networking: In possession of and able to build his/her internal and external network. Build and maintain knowledge in order to be up to date with latest developments

Your profile

• University degree with preference for CPA/CFA/CMA or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in M&A or related function (e.g. Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Corporate M&A team; Controlling etc.), preferably in the energy & utilities sector
• Experience in transaction/due diligence process, valuation and modelling
• Understanding of market drivers in general and ability to analyse targets from an industrial and strategic point of view
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Project management skills and experience
• Excellent knowledge of English language, other languages a plus
• Professional attitude, high working ethics, flexible style and ability to work under pressure both independently as well as in teams
