For the Communications department of Vattenfall we are looking for an Analyst Incident and Crisis Management, location Amsterdam.Our organization
Vattenfall is Europe’s fifth largest electricity generator and the largest producer of heat and operates in Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Poland and the UK. Our strategy is to reduce emissions from power generation with a road map to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
The Incident and Crisis Management organisation (ICM) handles proactively incidents and crises to contribute to Vattenfall’s core values safety, performance and cooperation. ICM is responsible for the overall Incident and Crisis Management capabilities in the Vattenfall Group.
ICM provides the Vattenfall Group with a governance capability to handle events before they happen and, if they occur, prevent them from escalating into an incident or a crisis. The ultimate aim for the ICM function is to support the Vattenfall Group to be perceived by all stakeholders to be operating in a trustworthy manner.
Vattenfall ICM in short
- The organization is on constant alert 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- The ICM unit consists of Vattenfall experts in crisis management and communication.
- The ICM unit always has access to a member of the Vattenfall top management, called the “Director on Duty”.
- The ICM also provides an overall situational awareness by compiling a “Situation Picture”, where information on any incidents or events of concern is compiled and analysed from an overall Vattenfall perspective.
- There is frequent training for incidents and crisis within different parts of the organization.
Your responsibilities
You will have a variety of duties, with different degrees of sophistication. You will collect and organize intelligence and market information and evaluate, analyze and summarize various reports / presentations, to operational support Vattenfall's management and Duty Organization. You are used to work with the scenario-based analysis to develop different action plans.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Monitor Vattenfall’s daily operational and communicative situation in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
- Be part of ICM’s overall analysis process.
- We expect you to find your way within the daily news feed.
- Develop rapidly a wide network/points of contacts across Vattenfall.
- You will work closely with our departments for Media relations, Risk Management, Public & Regulatory Affairs, Safety, Security, HR and Facilities in Vattenfall,
Your profile
Since Vattenfall Group is active in all parts of the energy sector and in several countries in Europe, a good insight into the political discussions in the EU and the countries we operate in, is required. Knowledge of and affinity with the energy industry is a plus. We prefer that you already are working in an agency, organization connected to crisis management. Analytical skills and high work ethics is more important than your academic background.
- Bachelor degree in Communications and/or Business Administration.
- At least 2 years of professional experience.
- Dutch native speaker, Fluent in English (orally and in writing)
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
- Knowledge of analytical software tools, excel and databases.
- Knowledge of different media types and social media forms.
You will be based in Amsterdam but the position requires weekly travelling.
